Colorado River Report

June 26, 2017

FLOW: 9,920 cfs

WATER CONDITIONS: Running high, but improving daily! Dropped almost 2000 cfs from yesterday, and we are seeing an explosion of bugs in the evenings.

OVERALL RATING: 4 out of 10

FOOD SOURCES PRESENT: Caddis, Midges, Blue Winged Olives, PMD and green drake nymphs, Sculpins, Juvenille Rainbows, Cranefly larva

THE LOW DOWN: The Colorado has just a bit of water in it this time of year with full runoff conditions.  On the other side of this argument is the fact that we should be seeing the famous twilight green drake hatch start down here sooner than later.  Check out some of the soft spots here and there in the late afternoons on foot- you might see the first drake hatch of the year despite the big water.

HATCHES: Caddis 16-18, BWOs 18-20, Midges (1 pm-4pm) sz 18-24
